Job Description
SUMMARY: Train to set up and operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic understanding of blue print reading. Basic understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing. Basic understanding of machine tool math skills. Ability to load and unload parts and start machine cycle. Ability to do basic measurements using calipers, micrometers, height stand, pin gauges, thread gauges, optical comparator. Ability to touch off own tools. Ability to set tool in tool holders to include heat shrink tooling Ability to make minor adjustments to tools for conforming parts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
