    Job Description

    ---CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES---

     

    • ACCOUNTING

      • A/R: prepares deposits; processes credit card payments; reconciles merchant accounts; assists in maintenance of all A/R files.
      • A/P: processes purchase orders, bills, and receipts; prepares vendor checks; answers vendor inquiries; analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms; assists in maintenance of all A/P files.
      • Audits project, time and other company data.
      • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
        • *Aside: We use NetSuite as our accounting platform, and any new hire for this position shall be thoroughly trained to use it. 
        • OFFICE MANAGEMENT
          • Helps manage scheduling for the Team.
          • Runs errands as needed.
          • Responsible for data entry.
          • Creates and maintains process documents.
      • Organizes and monitors office operations and procedures such as personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, and other clerical services.
        • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
        • Establishes uniform correspondence practices and procedures.
        • Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

    • EDUCATION: Possess or in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related major a plus
    • EXPERIENCE: entry-level 0-1+ years bookkeeping experience and good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    • PLANNING/ORGANIZING - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives.
    • ANALYTICAL/PROBLEM SOLVING - Identifies and resolves problems time efficiently; Gathers and analyzes information; Develops solutions; Uses reason.
    • QUALITY - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
    • TECHNICAL SKILLS - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Pursues developmental opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.

    School Credit is offered but not required. We will work to accommodate your schedule whenever possible. We understand you have classes, a job and in some cases, a family. We have an extensive library of books, e-books, and video tutorials that can be checked out or watched internally.

    We accept three intern classes every year: Fall, Spring & Summer. Each class is roughly 12 weeks in length, with start dates as follows:

    • Fall Class: First Monday in October
    • Spring Class: First Monday in February
    • Summer Class: Third Monday in May

    We will accept applications up to one year in advance of a class’ start date. Each period shall have a limited class size/availability.
