Fortra LLC is looking for a senior-level executive to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer. You will be a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. The Chief Financial Officer is to oversee/guide/manage/optimize our portfolio companies' financials and fills the role of a key business partner to the CEO. You will play a critical role in guiding the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health and stability of the whole organization. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, manage financial risks, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability goals. A perfect candidate for the CFO position is one who has extensive knowledge of financial management and possesses a strong background in strategic financial planning and analysis. The role will involve working with a diverse portfolio of companies and teams, most of which are in the growth stage. This position requires a great deal of change and pressure, with shifting priorities, deadlines, and goals, and as such, requires considerable self-confidence, vision, situational leadership, and a strong business-minded spirit. The parent company is a small family office that works closely with its subsidiary operating companies. It is comprised of the owner, a finance officer, and executive assistants. The team has successfully grown the company’s value by 50% year over year since 2011 and is now searching for the right team member to drive the finances and build upon its historical success. Compensation: • Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 (depending on experience) • Bonus Potential: $25,000 - $50,000 (based on performance) • Expected first-year earnings: $125,000 - $175,000 • 401(k) and matching • Health insurance • Vision and dental benefits • Paid Time Off • Bonus Opportunities • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Life insurance • Parental leave • Professional development assistance Responsibilities: • Distill complex financial data into actionable information and key performance indicators. • Build financial models, analyze new trends, and initiate deep dives into big issues and opportunities. • Lead financial reviews with operating units and mentor business leaders on financial acumen. • Overseeing tax, treasury, capital, asset management, regulatory compliance, and corporate portfolio management and modeling. • Drive process improvement through effective collaboration and partnership across finance and operations. • Deliver year-over-year growth in enterprise value. • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, in alignment with the overall business objectives. • Provide financial leadership and collaborate with the executive team to drive business growth and profitability. • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and standards, and drive the implementation of best practices. • Manage and optimize working capital, cash flow, and capital expenditure to support operational needs and long-term growth. • Conduct financial risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes and facilitate business expansion. • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other stakeholders. • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred). • CPA or CMA designation is highly desirable. • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. • Proven track record of driving financial performance and contributing to strategic decision-making processes. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders. • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team toward achieving common goals. • Experience in the wine industry or a related field is a plus.
