Fossil Distance Learning Program is a program within the Fossil Charter School in Fossil, Oregon. This charter school is the only school in the Fossil School District. The Fossil Distance Learning Program has been in existence for the last 10 years, and has been serving students in grades K-8. This program has provided diverse educational opportunities to students all across the State of Oregon. Fossil Charter School contracts with Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. to administer and deliver the instructional and related services to students enrolled in the Fossil Distance Learning Program.
The distance learning program model is based on a hybrid distance education model wherein teachers provide virtual support to students, families, and work with a collaborative team of teachers. Depending on Covid-19 restrictions, this position will include in-person activities consisting of field trip opportunities, workshops, state testing, and other events with our students and their families.
For this position, Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. directors are looking for candidates who have an current state of Oregon teaching license. We are looking to fill 2 FTE positions to host activities and events with our students and families throughout the school year. We would prefer candidates with experience with charter schools, online education, and homeschooling.

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
JOB DEFINITION: Under the general supervision of the Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Directors perform a variety of tasks with major responsibility being that of providing exceptional support services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program and that may participate in numerous in person enrichment activities and in person state testing sessions.
REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTORS OF DISTANCE LEARNING SOLUTIONS, INC.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS: Support services shall include planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes, vendor and venue communication and scheduling, regular and frequent communication with parents/guardians and students, regular tracking of activity payments and rosters. Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, discipline, and safety of students and parent/guardians. The use of independent judgement and decision making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies or precedent.

Participates in in-service and professional development activities
Facilitate the assessment of program students and the planning required to meet those needs
Attends meetings and serves on committees as assigned or directed (or if individual volunteers)
Sets and carries out goals each year
Contributes to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program
Operate office machines, including computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines
Assists in accounting process of organization purchasing
Use a variety of computer software including MS Excel and the Google Suite
Fulfills other duties as assumed or as assigned by supervisor

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Working closely with students can be both physically and emotionally tiring. May be stressful for those who deal with unmotivated and disrespectful students. May require exposure to adverse weather conditions and noisy work areas. Special education teachers may be exposed to such job hazards as biting, kicking, etc.
