Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage and administer the manufacturing related functions of products that are marketed and sold within the Prepared Foods Division. This includes the operational management of Foster Farms facilities (600 + employees) within the Prepared Foods Division (California (2 sites), Oregon, Alabama). Identify and recommend manufacturing technologies, processes and operations to supplement the growth of the Prepared Foods Division.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provide direction to operation management subordinates.
· Evaluate processes and products to determine improvements.
· Plan for new products, business and/or technologies.
· Maintains reliable work force and positive union relations
· Meet with divisional managers to discuss business issues pertaining to Prepared Foods.
· Set and monitor the goals and objectives for operations management.
· Prepare, review and submit capital projects needs.
· Preparation and approval of budgets and costings.
· Participate in divisional growth and acquisition decisions.
· Negotiate and write co-pack agreements.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
· College degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
· At least 10 years in a food processing environment.
· At least 5 years experience in managing a food operation.
· Effective analytical, leadership and communication skills.
