Wage $19.00hr

The purpose of the position is to help the department with administrative and field projects on a temporary basis and allow the company to introduce college students to Foster Farms  Chicken Live Production Department, allowing for the Student and the Department to to benefit from one another. 

The temporary employee will participate in weekly department meetings, as well as on-ranch discussions between Field Supervisors and ranch employees. Will learn good bird husbandry including ventilation, feed and water practices.  Participate in performing and assisting other employees with bird necropsies, blood, tissue and other sampling tasks. Will  help in updating and communicating safety, bio-security, JSA, SDS, and OSHA programs. Will be exposed to Foster Farms Animal Welfare and certification standards, including all record keeping, daily tasks, and audit participation.   

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled at a Junior College or four year university, with a 3.0 GPA or higher Ag Business/ Animal Science or related field of study preferred. Must be familiar with all Microsoft Office programs.  Must have a valid California Driver license, have and maintain a good DMV record. Able to work in all-weather environments. Must be able to adhere to our bio-security requirements. Must be organized and have excellent time management skills. Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to work weekends and early or late shifts when necessary.
