Job Description

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operate various pieces of equipment as needed in the manufacturing of compost and soil amendment, along with stockpiling and loading of various products                                   
• Vehicle safety Inspections and filling out Inspection Forms
• Operate articulated front end loaders, water truck, tractor with scraper,

Compost turning machine, silage push tractor, and any other equipment deemed necessary in a safe and efficient manner.

• Monitor oxygen level, moistures, and temperature on compost, and make

adjustments in watering and turning as needed for quality and compliance issues

• Keeping accurate records of hours and activities, compost logs as required by

regulatory agencies and departmental needs.                             

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform Duties of Driver Loader, Utility positions or any other task needed as deemed necessary my management

$ 15.90-17.00/hour 

Qualifications

·   Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs.), working in confined spaces, ability to work at heights (70 feet), climbing up/down ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, and reach on a daily/repetitive bas

·   Ability to operate all plant equipment and machinery including rolling stock (trucks/trailers, forklifts, loaders, man lifts)

·   Good communication skills, both verbal and written

·   Good mathematical skills

·         Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks in all types of weather, including:  lifting 50 lbs., working in confined spaces, climbing up and down ladders or steps, and walking long distances in the taking of temperatures and oxygen levels in compost rows

·         Ability to read and understand job related manuals.

·         Ability to identify variables in product and adjust process as needed to compensate.

·         Must be able to operate front-end loaders, tractor and scraper, forklifts, composting machine, and off-road use of water truck and truck- trailer combinations.

·         Able to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed

·         Excellent attendance record

·         Good organizational and problem solving skills

·         Clean DMV printout
