  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Responsible for managing all elements of PSM, RMP and CAA 608 programs, regulatory compliance and the integrity of the industrial refrigerant systems, including ammonia and other cooling process systems for multiple facilities located at Foster Farms Corporate Complex located in Livingston, CA. 

    Conduct gap analysis, prepare documents pertaining to compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitate meetings, perform and participate in MOC’s, PHA’s PSSR’s, PSM Audits, MI’s etc, Interface with engineering, plant management and maintenance and safety/risk management.

    Conduct training with Foster Farms personnel to ensure competency and that processes/protocols are followed.

    Ensure the continuous training and competency of all ammonia refrigeration technicians/engineers and other affected plant level personnel.

    Coordination with vendors/contractors

    Ensure compliance with Corporate Safety/Risk Management policies.

    Other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated and directed.

    Must have a minimum three (3) years on the job experience in industrial refrigeration, preferably with two stage ammonia systems.

    Must possess a 2 year technical degree or equivalent

    Affiliation with Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association (RETA) Certification

    OSHA Certification

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Ability to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs and working in confined spaces

    Ability to work in various weather conditions

    Ability to lift 50lbs

    Ability to read and understand P&ID’s (Piping and Instrument Diagrams) and technical specifications (Ammonia Refrigeration)

    Ability to read and understand complex regulatory requirements

    Ability to conform to all OSHA< PSM, HAZMAT and program regulations

    Competent in OSHA Emergency Response Requirements

    Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with good manufacturing practices

    Competency in RAGAGEP (Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices)

    Ability to demonstrate safe work habits

    Ability to work in fast-paced environment

    Flexibility with work schedule including shift work, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed/required

    Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision

    Ability to read, write and perform basic math

    Effective Communicator

    Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions

    Ability to work well with others as an effective team player

    Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work

    Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices

    Must have proven ability to understand refrigeration blueprints, PHA’s, SOP’s as well as knowledge of completion of MOC’s as certified by Maintenance Management

    Must be able to interpret and identify valves and equipment using P&ID’s.

    Must have proven experience in ammonia system pump-downs and repairs.

    Must be able to monitor and identify abnormal operating pressures, temperatures and conditions within the Refrigeration system and make adjustments or repairs to correct any issues.

    Must have proven knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems and PSM/RMP Programs

    Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check and drug test
