    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

    As a member of the Accounts Payable team, the Accounts Payable Payment Clerk will be responsible for primary responsibility of day-to-day process controls including daily payment runs including additional approvals on all payments over $100K, timely posting of rejected ACH and SUA payments, all tax payments made through Wells Fargo CEO/Wellstax for both Tax and Payroll Departments. This position will also assist with ongoing review of all 1099 reportable vendors to ensure year-end process accuracy. This position touches most aspects of the department and will assist with moving vendors from check payment to electronic payment.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Review and audit of all invoices over $5K using daily SAP report for accuracy.

    Review and audit all invoices flagged as duplicates for accuracy.

    Analysis of ongoing processing issues as needed.

    Process tax payments for the Tax and Payroll departments in Wells Fargo CEO/Wellstax program.

    Process all daily payment runs and audit for any payments over $100K that require additional signature.

    Ownership of all rejected payments, returned checks and refund checks including researching the root cause and taking immediate action to resolve. 

    Assist with the management of Vendor Payment Processes (Check, ACH, and Single Use Account Payments): Take lead role in moving vendor payments from manual check format to electronic payments.

    Check voiding for entire company (Accounts Payable and Payroll). 

    Monitor and review all Vendor Levy’s.  

    Ongoing review of all 1099 reportable vendors, year-end 1099 process and changes.

    Other ad hoc analysis of AP processes and procedures as wells as proposing value added changes to existing processes as directed by AP Manager. Includes implementation of approved changes to processes

    Assist with day-to day process controls including audit of invoices over $5K and flagged as duplicate.

    All aspects of the payment processes and reviews required to release payments.

    Tax payments, voiding of all company checks, rejected payments, returned checks, refund checks and Vendor Levy’s.

    Ongoing review of 1099 Vendors.

    Other ad hoc analysis as needed by AP Manager.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    Other assignments based on the needs of the accounts payable department.

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must have one-two year’s business school or college, and strongly prefer Bachelor’s degree

    Position will be approximately a six to nine month temporary assignment in A/P.

    Prefer to have Accounts Payable experience

    Must be a self-starter and have excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

    Ability to work independently, with a team, and with all levels of management.

    Excellent organizational skills, detailed oriented.

    Must have strong understanding of computer systems, accounting interfaces and have basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.

    Understanding/experience in an accounting/purchasing environment preferred.

    Strong problem solving skills and goal oriented with a focus on results.

    Ability to handle pressure and make quick decisions.
