Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Manager of Sourcing Development will report to the Vice President of Sourcing and be a member of the Sourcing Leadership Team. As such, the individual will assume a strong leadership position within the sourcing team and will need to influence and collaborate across the entire team as well as multiple departments including Finance, IT, Operations and HR. The individual must possess strong interpersonal, collaborative and persuasion skills along with strong strategic and critical thinking capabilities. Working closely with the Vice President, the Manager of Sourcing Development will support the development and implementation of sourcing department strategies and process related to: critical projects and programs such as payment terms and strategic category management, procurement skills training coordination, procurement systems, process and policy development and management, establishing and managing reporting routines and supporting in the overall people development of the department.
The role requires strong change agent capabilities within the department and across the Foster Farms business. Being able to coordinate a team and lead that team to success against a new project, objective or process is critical. Influencing skills are critical as are project management skills and exceptional analytical capabilities. Knowledge of current and future procurement best practices is strongly preferred. The individual is expected to be flexible and willing to adapt to changing business demands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the role out of the Category management and Strategic Sourcing process for Foster Farms. Ongoing overall management of the program to help facilitate ongoing success and goal achievement for the Sourcing team
Maintain all department processes, continually look for opportunities to improve. Implement new and changes to existing policies
Be a thought leader in the procurement profession, determine current and future best practice. Constantly investigate and provide input to the Sourcing leadership team.
Manage all reporting and reporting routines. Ensure perfect accuracy of reporting
Work closely with the VP of Sourcing and IT to develop the strategic three year plan for Sourcing systems. Build the business case and help sell into the organization
Work closely with VP of Sourcing and HR to build a sourcing team people agenda. Includes: Building job role competency matrix, training on Procurement skills and Procurement systems.
Lead special projects such as the Supplier Payment terms cash project. Support all aspects of the project such as special training, reporting, support the selling of the project across the business.

Individual will be a leader within the Sourcing Department and will be expected to drive department performance and growth
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, or equivalent required, MBA preferred.
Must have three to five years’ work experience in Sourcing/Procurement environment
Strong analytical skills, with highly proficient use of Excel and power point
Strong knowledge of Procurement systems
Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications: word processing, presentation, data base management
Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills
Strong communication abilities, capable of simplifying complex data
Excellent Interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of procurement procedures.
Strong accounting knowledge
