PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assure Foster Farms maintains a competitive advantage in the area of packaging costs through contracting and procurement practices, resulting in the maximum return of shareholder investment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for cost effective supply of all packaging, supplier relationship management, including supplier qualification, price negotiation and analysis, cost tracking and management. The candidate will lead a team of professionals and work closely with Packaging Engineering, Planning, Marketing and Plant Operations.
Develop and drive the Procurement vision for, with and through the stakeholder community.
Developing the vision, strategy and implementation plan for packaging that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for Foster Farms
Interface directly with supplier leadership to assure alignment of Foster Farms objectives are met, including quality, assurance of supply, service, innovation and cost
Understands operational considerations. Identifies business demand requirements and partners with stakeholders and OPs to deliver value improvements and drives competitive advantage
Understand long range requirements of the stakeholders and engage in strategic planning and partnering to ensure alignment
Deliver on financial, service, assurance of supply, quality, innovation, and growth commitments
Build and maintain relationships throughout Foster Farms that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of optimal approaches and solutions
Develop supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value, and bring innovation to the business
Identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics
Escalate issues that may impact the organization
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Business Administration or related field, MBA preferred
Must have minimum five-seven years in-depth knowledge and experience with flexible and corrugated packaging and experience in direct materials procurement
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, supply chain and material planning practice, supplier and stakeholder management, inventory and risk management
Experience in contract creation and knowledge of business law
Strong leadership skills with minimum three years supervisory experience
Strong understanding of SAP system, MRP and Planning along with a strong understanding of CPG
