    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Position will work in our Benefits department acting as a liaison between Foster Farms plan participants, other Foster Farms Departments, and Plan TPAs. The intent of relieving seasoned staff that will be working on an implementation.  Great opportunity to learn about Foster Farms Benefits Department and make an impact to the day to day functions of the department.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Handle and resolve inquiries regarding enrollment status, eligibility, plan benefit coverage from employees, providers, vendors, HR departments and the TPAs,  and maintain enrollment and eligibility in the Benefit system.

    Audit accuracy of eligibility/financial reports between FF and vendor records in addition to internal FF reports.

    Create, import/export reports to/from benefit vendors for enrollment, claims, eligibility and other miscellaneous issues.

    Development of employee communications and design for various benefits programs. Work with Benefits Enrollment firm and consultants to implement new plans or changes by preparing plan summary documents and other media for communicating plans to employees.

    Performs annual year-end activities such as updating the plan rates/contributions into the ACA Plan Manager and handle the annual audit of 1095 forms.

    Serves as a point of contact for internal and external partners for benefits related questions, activities and processes. Explains employee benefits to members by conducting meetings, preparing announcements and contribution worksheets; responds to requests for information.

    Performs benefit administration activities such as management of benefit enrollment reviews, documentation of processes and procedures, analysis of error reports and researching escalated issues.

    Actively participates in the implementation of benefits initiatives; handles assigned projects independently or in groups

    Provide Employee Relations/customer service for all company locations (Q&A as needed),provide participant education on use of their selected health plans

    Open Enrollment (Annual & Special)

    Coordinate/assist enrollment vendor and HRIS with annual and special open enrollment processes.

    Core Benefit Administration 

    Eligibility determination/enrollment of employees to Benefit system, includes transfers, promotions, rehires, status changing events and court orders. Research accuracy and completeness of forms and validity of documentation such as birth and marriage certificates, court orders, etc. 

    Setup and maintenance of benefit records and related information (includes scanning/indexing of documents, Benefits data entry, coordination with Payroll, and document storage)

    Responsible for terminating and reinstating on benefit system those union plan participants whose plan participation hinges on number of hours worked. (audit performed weekly using Crystal reports and reports from HR. Requires payroll adjustments weekly)

    Handle FSA questions; perform audits using discrepancy reports and adjusting payroll as needed.

    Perform administration of group plans (Life, AD&D, LTC, STD and LTD) and all voluntary plans (LTC, Life & Vision Buy-up, Accident insurance, Critical Illness and others as may be added). Includes enrollment, life & disability claims, premium payment, reconciliation and/or audits to vendor reports, portability notification, WOP, etc.

    Wellness Program Administration

    Eligibility determination and enrollment of employees to Incentive Program. If needed, issue refunds using reports from the program administrator

    Assist in education & communication to employees and spouses regarding the Wellness program, including the health screenings, incentive program, Regional Health Program, Healthy Babies, Mental Health & Substance Abuse, Tobacco Cessation, etc.

    Reporting, audit and reconciliation responsibilities

    Reporting to/from approximately 10 benefit vendors, includes audit & reconciliation process for about 25+ reports, daily/weekly/monthly and provide results to Department Supervisor.

    Provide backup for Fidelity wire.

    Audit each month (20) participant’s accounts to make sure participants are getting the correct contribution amount (reports from Benefit System to Fidelity reports). Ensure contribution wire matches file sent to Fidelity.

    Perform Payroll Audit for voluntary and health contributions, use weekly BN100 report for employee promotions, transfers etc to adjust Health Benefit plan changes and/or premiums and adjustments 

    Voluntary programs. Request one shots, refund, adjustments and setups and provide results to Supervisor.

    Report Personal payments for participants on LOA by entering into BMED, PR82, & notes in HRIS system. Checks coded, scanned and sent to A/R.

    Set up wire claims & A/P payment twice weekly to TPA and other benefit vendors after reconciling invoices/stmts, providing reconciliation results to supervisor.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Any other special projects/duties as assigned

    Development of schedule for site visits in conjunction with HR Department needs

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be interested and available for an 18-24 month full time temporary position.

    Five years prior experience in Customer Service: experience in medical preferred

    Bilingual: English/Spanish or Punjabi required, other languages a plus

    Familiar with various state/federal regulations relating to benefits (COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)

    Strong verbal/written communication & customer service skills. Mathematical aptitude a plus. 

    Ability to work well with people, and maintain confidence, productivity & composure in a fast-paced environment

    Accuracy, highly organized, ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple projects with frequent interruptions

    Ability to work independently and make decisions

    Ability to maintain a very high degree of confidentiality regarding confidential and sensitive information

    Proficient on computer in Word, Excel, & Outlook, Benefit System and PowerPoint. Also On-base (scanning) and other programs as assigned

    Requires extensive use of computer (keyboarding)

    Able to travel locally and at times out-of-area (includes out-of-state) and be able to work flexible hours when necessary

    Reliable transportation required and have a valid CDL
