    Job Description

    Purpose of Position:

    The Corporate FSQA Manager is a key leadership position that spans responsibility for overseeing Supplier and Co-Packer food safety and quality, auditing internal and external food manufacturing sites to measure compliance with FF policies and programs, identifying the key risk attributes for each manufacturing site and working with local operations and QC managers on initiatives for reducing risk, as well as overseeing implementation and maintenance of all FSQA data systems (e.g. – SAP/Q.M., LIMS, SSS). This individual is responsible for providing FSQA data systems leadership, support, and training to the manufacturing facilities and executive team by identifying key opportunities and reporting systems to improve food safety, product quality and regulatory compliance. This includes managing customer and consumer complaints, leading IT systems implementation, and managing the use of current technologies throughout the facilities. The manager is responsible for the analysis and reporting of key FSQA metrics to other departments and the executive team. This individual is also responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate FSQA programs (e.g. procedures, training material). This individual will have a vital role in the development and successful implementation of an internal FSQA compliance program, and the supplier risk reduction program that includes the approval and on-going management of the Company’s supply chain and co-manufacturers/co-packers.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Manage the FSQA supplier and co-packer program that outlines the approval criteria for suppliers, materials, risk assessment matrix, on-going management of supplier performance, and supplier/co-packer audit requirements to reduce risk.

    Provide technical food safety and quality support during the innovation/development of products. Direct involvement with internal and external resources during product launching at co-packer facilities.

    Develop an internal FSQA compliance program that includes implementation and verification of standardized corporate programs all processing facilities, routine gap analysis audits and BRC internal audits.

    Maintain corporate programs relevant, up to date and easily accessible by the processing plants. Function as the gatekeeper for third party audit and customer audit certifications. Verify compliance of programs/procedures against third party audit standards, including GFSI audit scheme, and customer requirements.

    Responsible for the overall management of consumer and customer complaint system. Ability to analyze complaint data using statistical tools to identify emerging trends. Drive continuous process improvements for the consumer contact center and customer complaint handling process. Effective communication of key data to a diverse audience such as processing facilities, Marketing, Sales, R&D and the Executive team.

    Serve as the business lead and liaison for the development, enhancement, implementation and development of all IT related FSQA projects. Responsible for the implementation and consistent utilization of FSQA IT systems all processing facilities.

    Key contributor during Crisis Management.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Meat Science OR related field with at least 5 years of experience. Preferred MBA or MS in Food Science, Food Safety, Meat Science OR related field.

    Understanding of Process capability and the application of Process control/Quality control within those processes. Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification is preferred.

    Management and facilitation of cross-functional teams.

    Strong aptitude for data analysis and information reporting.

    Ability to communicate to all members of the organization and the ability to create standardized methods and approaches for project management processes. Advise executive teams on progress, problem-solving, solution development, identification and measurement of performance targets, plan development and data analysis

    Prior department management experience is preferred.

    Problem solving skills and team management skills.

    Ability to independently manage projects and ensure follow-up and completion.

    Possess good interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.

    Technical knowledge of food quality/safety procedures and programs, regulatory requirements, microbial hazards, HACCP program development, microbiological laboratory procedures, sanitation procedures and plant operations.

    Working knowledge of GFSI certification standards

    Functions at an autonomous level with minimal supervision.

    Travel approximately 30% of the time
