    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    Provide Human Resources support to management and non-union employees in maintaining employee records, documentation and selecting the best fit candidates for positions.  Manage staffing of temporary clerical pool and provide overall support (administrative and clerical, secretarial), to the Human Resources Department Management staff (VP for Human Resources, Recruiting and Employee Relations Manager and H.R. Supervisor) as required. Will also provide H.R. support to the divisions this department supports.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Provide complete H.R. support to Management and employees for Corporate, Sales, Quality Control and Commodities Divisions in matters of attendance, vacation PAF processing, pay issues, PAF’s (transfers, promotions, terms), leaves of absences, plan discrepancies, new hire orientation scheduling, benefit issues, sensitive information, and employee relations.  This position is the first point of contact for Corporate employees. Is also involved with direct coordination of employee events.

    Manage Temporary labor Pool for entire company.  Recruit, interview, test and hire for the temporary pool to fulfill the needs of departments within Foster Farms.  Will work with departments to remove/release candidates not working out. Coordinate time cards weekly and monitor assignment length.

    Provide administrative support to VP of Human Resources, Recruiting and Employee Relations Manager and H.R. Supervisor (i.e. scheduling external candidate interviews and travel, special projects, etc)

    PCard Administration for Corporate and Central HR Departments.  Ordering supplies from Corporate Express, dealing with 3rd party vendors and reconciliation of account monthly.

    Address time accrual issues for all employees in the department supports.  Research, generate corrections in HRIS system and explain correction to employee.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    Provide support/back-up information when HR Supervisors are out of the office.

    Assist with company functions (service awards, holiday parties, new hire tour events, College Recruiting events)

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    AS/AA Degree or equivalent work experience

    Five years of Human Resources experience preferred or BA/BS degree

    Good interpersonal and organizational skills; able to listen to and communicate with all levels of the organization

    Must be able to communicate with executive management

    Computer literate in Windows environment and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

    Ability to research and analyst HRIS issues

    Ability to work in a fast paced environment which requires multi-tasking

    Excellent customer service skills and a make it happen attitude

    Ability to stay calm under pressure

    High level of confidentiality

    Ability to work independently and give immediate information in difficult situations.
