    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    As the HR Business Partner on the Corporate HR team, you will be a valued partner to the business by aligning business objectives with employee initiatives. You are an advocate and role model of the company values.  You will serve as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and be a proactive problem solver. As a successful HRBP, you will be an employee champion and change agent. You will form collaborative partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

    Consult with supervisors/management, provide HR guidance when appropriate. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. 

    Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective and objective investigations. 

    Recruit exempt and non-exempt employees to ensure best candidates possible are selected. Manage and coordinate Foster Farms, enterprise-wide, college recruiting programs.

    Partner with the business to drive talent management, succession planning, career pathing and coaching initiatives to the organization to foster employee development.

    Assist in driving excellence into the HR organization by creating guidelines, processes and delivering training to the HR team.

    Assist with employment branding initiatives to highlight employee experiences on social media to attract top talent.

    Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. 

    Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.

    Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.

    Additional projects as assigned

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

    2+ years of Human Resources experience.

    Knowledge of performance management, employee relations, safety practices, talent acquisition, talent management, and compensation strategy, with the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law

    Change agent with excellent interpersonal skills

    Active listener with solid written and verbal communication skills

    Strategic thinker with proven ability to drive continuous improvement and results

    Must demonstrate sound HR decision making 

    Must be able to coach employees and leaders up to director level

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience utilizing HRMS

    Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

    Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check

    Must have a valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation

    Must have consistent and reliable attendance

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

    Masters Degree or MBA

    4 years of Human Resources experience including 2 years of experience in recruiting

    Gallup Strengths Coach Certified

    Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM - Certified Professional

    Demonstrated project management skills

    Experience in Workday HRMS systems
