    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    Work with Payroll in the Pay process during the implementation of Foster Farms’ new Human Capital Management (HCM) System. Will support project initiatives and/or support day-to-day Payroll operations.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    HRMS implementation Project work:  perform testing/validation of Pay and/or Time scenarios.  Track/record conclusions relative to expectations.

    Executes high-level, intermediate, and complex payroll and tax activities/controls ensuring that they are performed in a timely manner, with high standards of quality and accuracy, and in compliance with Banking, Regulatory, Tax, and Internal policies and procedures.

    Develops enhancements, performs and verifies reconciliations and controls to ensure the propriety, accuracy and integrity of the payroll, reporting, distributions, and tax initiatives.

    Participates in the assessment of implications of new requirements, policies, or procedures that affect payroll, taxes and related reporting activities.

    Gathers information and keeps abreast of shifting trends in Payroll process and systems. Creates and generates reports that are useful to the department and supports the company’s needs, and that identify and support areas of opportunity and improvement.

    Serves as a point of contact for internal and external auditors and the Internal Control Unit for payroll related activities and processes. Participates in the execution of remediation plans and activities, as applicable.

    Participates in and orchestrates the development and maintenance of operating manuals for payroll processes and controls.

    Participates in the testing and implementation of enhancements to any Payroll and related systems.

    Actively participates in the implementation of PAY/HRMS initiatives; handles assigned projects independently or in groups.

    Administer and improve processes and programs to ensure that goals are achieved while maintaining workplace compliance, consistency and fairness. Leverages technology to enhance HR services and contain costs.

    Enables the establishment of standardized processes, expectations and drivers for consistency in the application of policies and procedures in the payroll and related functions.

    Directs or conducts new and experienced user systems training (all PR systems).

    Document and test Payroll policy / procedure.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    Participate in year-end processing.

    Work with miscellaneous auditors as needed.

    Special projects as needed.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be interested and available for a 8-12 month full time temporary position.

    BA/BS Degree (or currently pursuing).  Degree preference: HR Mgmt., Business Admin, Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent.

    Preferably two years of experience in or associated with Payroll, Tax, Finance, HR, Financial Systems/controls with strong data analysis background; experience in Payroll and Taxation a plus

    Demonstrated PR/HR professional/technical knowledge, skills and expertise

    Strong System Skills (Payroll/HR, WFM [time collection], Excel, Word,) to include formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, query and intermediate to complex report writing/analytics.  Preferred SQL experience and/or interest in learning SQL and other advanced reporting tools.

    Strong mathematical, analytical / problem-solving skills and detail-oriented

    Effective Communication skills and leveraging of relationships and strategies.

    Demonstrated Organizational & Planning Skills

    Demonstrated history establishing objectives, tasks, responsibilities and timelines for completion of projects to deliver desired business results.  Solution oriented & creative thinker, focused on improving processes and department efficiency.

    Ability to understand client needs and provides services that meet their expectations for quality and performance; 

    Proven history with confidential and protected information.

    Self-motivated & directed; ability to work under pressure in fast paced, deadline oriented environment and have excellent interpersonal skills
