    Job Description

    PURPOSE:

    Assists with implementing the strategic forecast for the Turkey and lunchmeat core business lines; implements PL packaging and new item projects.

    Assists in the completion of tasks associated with new products and packaging changes such as Product Change Requests (PCRs), Authorization to Pack (ATPs), and New Product Development Requests (NPDRs).  Assists in project management tasks associated with new packaging and sales materials (Work Front).  Assists in tracking progress against distribution and market share objectives (IRI).  Assists in analysis of financial performance of product lines (BW/SAP, Sales Discovery).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Prepare, analyze & maintain strategic forecast on a period, annual and 5-year basis.  Develop, implement, and analyze consumer and trade promotions. Develop POS, trade brochures, trade ads and other collateral material as needed.

    Assist with concept development and lead execution of packaging and product introductions; facilitate communication between Operations, Purchasing, R&D, Sales, USDA and external design agencies to ensure successful introductions. Coordinate PL and Foodservice packaging and new item projects.

    Analyze volume trends by customer and code, syndicated data and external 3rd party data to assist with forecasting and provide pricing analysis.  Provide sales group with support including sales presentations, product information, trade promotion ideas, etc. Align with Senior Manager on sales growth goals, and new product plans for use in forecasting.

    Implement on-going forecasting process improvements.  Analyze product lines and market segments as needed.  Assist in strategic planning of marketing plans and annual volume budget.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics or related field, MBA preferred

    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Graphics programs.  Advanced working knowledge of: BW, SAP, Excel.

    2 – 4 years sales analysis, forecasting, project management or related experience.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with above average creativity

    Excellent organization, planning and project management skills.  Good understanding of product management as it relates to the production, packaging, promotion and selling of food products.

    Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others cross functionally

    Minimum one-year experience in marketing or closely related area (i.e., sales, market research, etc.) desired, preferably in a consumer product or perishable food industry preferred.

    May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.

    Ability to travel as needed
