    Job Description

    Partners with VP of HR in creating plans and procedures for all company personnel in some or all of the functional areas:  employee relations, training, employment, workers compensation, and policy administration.  Incumbent will be expected to provide research, create proposals, deliver presentations, and lead the implementation of HR annual initiatives. Incumbent will provide interpretation of Stratas Policy and use independent judgment and discretion to resolve issues arising in these functional areas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provide input in creating, updating, communicating, and interpreting HR policy for Stratas Management, Plant HR staff, and employees. In addition, provide ongoing review of current HR forms and procedures and recommend improvements and changes based on ever changing laws. 
    2. May prepare, facilitate/ and or provide training to Employees, Supervisors, and Management, i.e., Diversity Awareness.
    3. Partners with Training Manager to identify current and future learning and development needs through job and career pathing analysis, professional development discussions, annual performance evaluations, training administration and consultation with managers and leadership.
    4. Administer the New Hire Orientation Process.  Provide overall design and process improvements to the New Hire Orientation Program including migration to on-line applicant tracking and on-line orientation process.
    5. Provide Human Relations leadership for employee events including but not limited to Holiday Party, Group Employee Events,   and other events as they arise.
    6. Affirmative Action/Governmental Compliance:  Manage AA Program for Corporate Location; Ensure applicable records and logs are maintained; Compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; and obtaining opinions from legal counsel.
    7. Legal liaison – point of contact for legal updates relating to policies and training.
    8. Coordinate and lead monthly HR communications with plant locations and Corporate staff.  Prepare and communicate agenda, plan conference calls, facilitate/host the calls, and provide follow-up documents and communications.
    9. Assist VP of HR with Performance Management. 
    10. Coordinate the preparation and monitoring of severance agreements.  Ensure employee changes are initiated, approved and implemented via the Employee Data Form Personnel Action Form.
    11. Assist VP of HR as necessary with succession planning reporting or tracking.
    12. Provide leadership in the organization, communication, and routine audit process of HR data at Corporate and all locations in order that HR information is maintained in accordance with internal auditing processes.
    13. Manage Service Award Program.
    14. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
    15. Design, implement and facilitate employee development, training and career pathing initiatives.
    16. May be required to coordinate special projects relating to Benefits, Acquisitions or Divestures, Labor Relations,  or general HR as necessary.
    17. Maintain and communicate Corporate policy guidelines for the addition of new jobs to the graded structure and enforce policy guidelines to create consistency in Management decisions and equity for employees of Stratas.
    18. Work with Managers in receiving updated job description for all Stratas employees.  Maintain a database for all Job descriptions for recruiting and job grading purposes.
    19. Serve as the Employee Relations contact for Corporate Office employees and field sales employees:  Counsel employees and consult with management to resolve employee relations concerns.
    20. Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster the organizations diversity goals.
    21. Build and oversee a diversity, equity, and inclusion governance structure, providing facilitation and training as necessary.
    22. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and high energy level are required as incumbent will work with all levels of employees, Management, and job candidates in communicating and enforcing policies and procedures.   A high level of verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate the policy and procedures for  Stratas.
    • Due to the complexity and broad range of employee issues, incumbent must be able to use deductive reasoning in a fair, consistent and efficient manner while resolving problems.
    • Individual must willingly adapt to change, be flexible with different Management Styles, and conscious to the confidential nature of this field.  
    • As a representative of  Stratas  to candidates and future  Stratas employees, incumbent will serve as a role model and leader; therefore, incumbent must ensure their personal actions, language, behavior, and attitudes properly reflect the professionalism of  Stratas .

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: BBA is a minimum. 

     

    RELATED EXPERIENCE:

    3-5 years in general Business with a minimum of 2 years professional experience in an HR function. 

    Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

    Organizational Development experience designing, implementing, and facilitating employee development, training and career pathing initiatives.

    Excellent communication skills and ability to coach, influence and partner with client leaders and team members

    Experience manages and resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.

    3- 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in the management of a combination of human resources programs including: human resources policy development, misconduct investigations, and/or risk management.

     

    EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE SKILLS:

    Micro-Soft Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.   ADP knowledge to make inquiries and write reports.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    PHR preferred but not required.

    Additional Information

    PHYSICAL: Must be physically able to operate computer equipment. Work is primarily sedentary however it is in a fast paced general office environment.  Some stress may occur. The incumbent must be able to lift or carry up to 10 lbs. of weight occasionally.   Regular travel is not expected in this position, however travel around job fairs or acquisitions of new ACH locations may be necessary.

    SENSORY: Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and hear (perceiving sounds of speech by ear.)  Specific visual abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. 

    MENTAL/REASONING: Due to the complexity and broad range of employee issues, employee must be able to use deductive reasoning in a fair, consistent and efficient manner_._
