Job Description

Wage: $17.25 to $17.60

With instruction/direction, assist higher-level brood maintenance mechanics in providing brood maintenance support by performing basic brood maintenance tasks as assigned in and around chicken houses.

General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required. Maintaining safety, housekeeping and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties.  

Qualifications

Knowledge or the following is required:

Use of basic hand tools such as a hammer, screwdriver, pliers, tape measure, wire strippers, etc. Use of electrical voltage tester. Use of lockout/tag out equipment and procedures.  Must be able to complete work in a timely and efficient manner. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work and climb up/down from a ladder and be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, reach and walk on uneven surfaces on a daily/repetitive basis. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Must be able to follow all company policies and guidelines including safety, bio-security and animal welfare.  Must have and maintain a California driver’s license and an acceptable DMV record.
