  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Monday- Friday 

    • To supervise a crew of trailer/reefer mechanics and fuel/wash personnel in maintaining the trailer fleet, company vehicle fueling and any special machinery, including the company’s rolling stock.  Consideration  must be given to cost efficiency, safety and quality for all repairs
    • Supervise trailer/reefer mechanics and fuel/wash personnel and assist as needed
    • Perform repairs on refrigeration units and trailers as needed
    • Enforce safe working habits and environment
    • Provide training and keep employees current on technology and methods of repair
    • Coordinate road service calls
    • Coordinate with internal customers
    • Create SAP work orders and complete special order part requests
    • Keep DOT schedule current and correct
    • Don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements
    • Perform other duties as requested by shop supervisor

     

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have a minimum five years experience on transport refrigeration units.  Formal training preferred
    • Supervisory experience preferred
    • Must be able to read and understand technical material and explain to personnel
    • Must have good leadership skills
    • Must be able to work overtime as needed
    • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Electronic/electrical experience required
    • Candidate must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the operations of the plant, hatchery, ranch, feedmill or other facility at which he/she works and apply a general knowledge of environmental regulations to those operations.  Candidate must hold a supervisory position and have the authority to direct the environmental activities of other workers.  Candidate must be willing to learn and capable of understanding basic regulatory concepts and performing general and specialized environmental assignments as required by regulatory agencies under the guidance of the Environmental Affairs Manager.  He/she must integrate his/her recognized knowledge of operations at his/her assigned facility with environmental compliance activities and provide primary plant leadership on all routine environmental compliance efforts
    • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
