    Job Description

    Foster Garvey PC, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading law firms, is looking for a Legal Practice Assistant to assist attorneys in their Business Practice Group. This includes attorneys in the Hospitality, Travel & Tourism group.

    The successful candidate will be outgoing, a team player, organized, and detail-oriented. Strong client service and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to make well-reasoned, effective decisions, and manage time efficiently will be crucial to your success. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to help provide support to the firm’s attorneys and clients.

    This is a full-time onsite position from our Seattle office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional overtime may be necessary to accommodate client needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Run conflict checks (Intapp Open), as requested.
    • Prepare engagement letters and waivers, as requested, and needed.
    • Clerical and administrative duties such as scheduling and preparing legal correspondences.
    • Enroll attorneys in CLE courses and assist with CLE questions and recording.
    • Process expense reimbursements through Chrome River.
    • Coordinate travel arrangements, as requested.
    • Maintain attorney Outlook calendars.
    • Schedule appointments and conference room reservations.
    • Prepare, proofread, format and revise correspondence and documents.
    • Assist in reviewing and finalizing attorney pre-bills.
    • In-person support to include scanning or copying projects, as requested.
    • Prepare, execute, and track the status of documents via DocuSign. Follow up as needed.

    Skills:
    • Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with common transactional and corporate terms, procedures, and protocols (i.e., contracts and agreements).
    • Prior experience with liquor licensing and other liquor-related matters is a plus.
    • Broad computer knowledge, skills and proficiency with Windows Operating System, Word Processing, Spreadsheets (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint), Internet (Chrome and Firefox), and other compatible and related software.
    • Ability to effectively and accurately present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, and employees.
    • Ability to prioritize issues and workload as well as anticipate projects that need to be completed.
    • Commitment to excellent customer service - acts as a liaison between the attorneys and other departments of the firm.
    • Establish effective working relationships and appropriately interact with others and provide backup support as needed.
    • Observe attorney-client confidentiality.

    Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in legal or professional services organization, or high school diploma and 5-7 years of experience in legal or professional services organization, or equivalent experience.
    • Legal secretary or paralegal certificate is preferred.

    Salary Range and Benefits:

    The pay range for this position is $73,500-$85,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate’s education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
