We are seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney, licensed in the State of Georgia, with at least 2 years of experience, including motion practice experience, who is passionate about helping people. We are not your typical small law firm. Ideal candidates have 2 or more years of experience in criminal law or have strong litigation experience and can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly. We are looking for a team player willing to take ownership of a client’s case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting investigations, arguing motions, pretrial hearings, and trials. You will need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, and common technology. Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, and certainly considered, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. Responsibilities: • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys Compensation: $69,000 - $85,000 yearly
