Founding Product Engineer (Client Search) | AI + B2B SaaS | NYC (In-Person)
We’re partnering with a seed-stage B2B SaaS startup building AI-powered sales software for the $9T chemicals industry, an industry still operating on PDFs, spreadsheets, and tribal knowledge.
Our client is tackling the “needle-in-a-haystack” problem for technical sales teams by combining deep domain expertise with AI agents. They have early customer traction, strong investor backing, and are now building their founding engineering team.
This is a confidential search for one of their earliest product engineers.
The Role
This is a founding-level Product Engineer role...high ownership, high trust, real influence.
You’ll work directly with the founders and customers to build the core product from the ground up, shaping not just features, but architecture, workflows, and engineering culture.
If you enjoy zero-to-one work, shipping quickly, and owning outcomes end-to-end, this role was designed for you.
What You’ll Do
Build and ship full-stack product features used by real customers
(React / TypeScript frontend, Python backend)
Translate customer pain into shipped functionality, fast
Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed with scale
Influence product direction, engineering standards, and team culture
Operate effectively without heavy process or rigid specs
What Our Client Is Looking For
4–8 years of professional software engineering experience
Strong full-stack capability (React/TypeScript + Python)
High agency: you unblock yourself, move fast, and take ownership
Comfort operating in ambiguity and early-stage environments
Clear communicator who enjoys working directly with customers
Excited to work in-person in NYC (4–5 days/week)
Nice to Have
Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or modern AI tooling
Background building data-heavy or workflow-driven applications
Previous startup or founding-team experience
