Founding Solutions Engineer
Location: New York City
Work Style: In-office 4 days, remote 1 day, with periodic customer travel
Employment Type: Full-time
Focus: Financial Infrastructure, Enterprise Integrations, Trading Workflows, Customer Deployment
About Our Client
Our client is building modern infrastructure for the OTC derivatives market — a massive financial market that moves trillions of dollars daily, yet still relies on outdated and fragmented technology.
The company is founded by a small team with deep experience across trading, quantitative finance, and engineering at tier-one financial institutions. They are building a modern, AI-native platform capable of processing some of the most complex transactions across global financial markets.
Their customers include sophisticated banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutional market participants. The problems are highly technical, the scale is massive, and the opportunity is to help define how critical financial infrastructure operates for decades to come.
About the Role
Our client is hiring a Founding Solutions Engineer (customer success engineering) to sit at the intersection of customers, product, and engineering.
This person will own the technical onboarding and deployment of the platform across enterprise financial customers. You’ll work directly with banks, hedge funds, asset managers, client engineering teams, information security teams, trading teams, operations teams, product owners, and senior stakeholders.
This is a deeply technical, highly customer-facing role. It is not traditional customer support or account management. You are responsible for making the technology work, driving customers toward successful production deployment, and turning field learnings into product improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Own customer deployments end-to-end, from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, launch, and adoption
- Lead technical onboarding for sophisticated financial institutions
- Design and implement integrations across APIs, FIX connectivity, SFTP, file feeds, and other enterprise data exchange patterns
- Configure enterprise identity and access systems, including SSO, authentication, authorization, and credential workflows
- Troubleshoot technologies such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, certificates, and enterprise identity providers
- Map complex trading workflows and client-specific data models into the platform
- Work with structured financial data across APIs, FIX messages, JSON, XML, CSV, and other formats
- Validate data accuracy, client schemas, business rules, and platform representation
- Diagnose technical issues across application behavior, authentication, networking, connectivity, data, configuration, and client infrastructure
- Write scripts or lightweight tools when needed to solve customer problems
- Coordinate testing, certification, migration, go-live, and post-launch activities
- Build trusted relationships with client engineering, security, operations, and business teams
- Act as a direct feedback loop between customers and product/engineering
- Create documentation, integration patterns, tooling, automation, and reusable onboarding playbooks
- Help every customer deployment become faster, cleaner, and more repeatable than the last
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, technical consulting, or another highly technical customer-facing role
- Strong technical foundation across distributed systems, APIs, data models, authentication, networking, and cloud applications
- Experience designing, implementing, or supporting integrations between enterprise systems
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, structured data formats, and data transformation or mapping
- Familiarity with enterprise authentication and authorization technologies such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and Single Sign-On
- Ability to independently investigate issues using logs, API requests, network traces, application configuration, and diagnostic tools
- Ability to write code or scripts when needed; Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript preferred
- Strong project ownership with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, dependencies, and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in ambiguous environments
- Customer-first mindset with strong engineering discipline
- Comfort working with sophisticated enterprise customers and navigating complex financial institutions
- Willingness to work in person from the NYC office and travel periodically to customer sites
Bonus Experience
- Experience in capital markets, fintech, financial infrastructure, or enterprise financial services
- Familiarity with OTC derivatives, trade capture, post-trade processing, confirmations, settlements, or trading workflows
- Experience implementing or supporting FIX protocol integrations
- Experience working with banks, hedge funds, asset managers, prime brokers, or institutional market participants
- Experience with SFTP, managed file transfer, VPNs, TLS/mTLS, private connectivity, or enterprise integration patterns
- Experience with identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping Identity, or Auth0
- Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud platforms
- Experience working with databases and querying production data
- Experience building internal tooling or automation to make onboarding and implementation more scalable
- Experience owning enterprise implementations from technical discovery through production launch
Why This Opportunity
- Join an early team building modern infrastructure for one of the largest financial markets in the world
- Work directly with sophisticated banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and enterprise financial institutions
- Own technical deployments that directly impact customer success and revenue
- Solve hard problems across trading workflows, integrations, identity, data mapping, and production readiness
- Partner closely with product and engineering to shape the platform based on real customer needs
- Build repeatable onboarding systems, playbooks, and tooling from the ground up
- Step into a role with high ownership, deep technical complexity, and direct customer impact
