    The Marketing and Communications Coordinator executes communication strategies that increase public awareness, influence enrollment, and elevate the brand of Fountain Valley School. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and work closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to advance Fountain Valley’s mission and strategic initiatives.

    Primary Duties :

    • Support the Director in publishing two electronic e-newsletters: Prairie Post (quarterly, story-driven) and FVS Weekly (weekly containing nuts-and-bolts info for current families), plus multiple other constituent communications.
    • Support fundraising and alumni engagement by creating print and/or messaging campaigns.
    • Produce videos and other multimedia content.
    • Coordinate photography of sports teams and write relevant stories (season wrap-ups, playoff updates, etc. )
    • Academic program and department content
    • Oversee content on giving webpages, event forms, and event webpages
    • Create, edit, and coordinate collateral across all communications channels.
    • Gather information and help develop and implement storytelling ideas and vehicles for the School.
    • Monitor relevant rating sites (Google, Niche, Boarding School Review, etc)
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications timeline calendar to track email communications, events coverage, social media content, etc.
    • Develop content for and manage social media channels.
    • Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all content is consistent in style and quality.
    • Support the Director in identifying focus areas and helping execute marketing and communication plans.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns, including market research.

    Preferred Qualifications & Knowledge:

    This job requires any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and/or experience as indicated below:

    1. Education:

    • Associate’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, and/or related field

    2. Experience:

    • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field with proven results in planning and executing communication strategies and public relations programs
    • Experience working in an educational setting
    • Experience shooting and editing photos and videos

    3. Licensure/Certification:

    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel

    4. Equipment/Software Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the equivalent Google software suite. Ability and comfort with quickly learning new software and programs.
    • Experience with using email marketing software
    • Experience with digital editing software for graphic design and videography
    • Experience with website content management systems
    • Experience with Blackbaud products is preferred

    5. Other Qualifications:

    • Excellent verbal, written, and proofreading skills
    • Experience managing and maintaining social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and/or Tiktok
    • Demonstrated experience with developing articles, presentations, newsletters, direct marketing, internet, and promotional literature
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential materials when working on specific tasks or projects
    • Comfortable working in a fast-moving organization while maintaining an eye for accuracy and detail
    • Creative thinker who can bring messages, ideas, and programs to life in new ways that resonate with internal and external audiences
    • Resourceful, detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys learning and experimenting with new technologies
    • A self-starter who is proactive, responsive, high energy, creative, and collaborative
    • Develop good relationships across teams and departments and the ability to confidently and clearly explain communications ideas
    • Digitally savvy with solid knowledge of and experience using social media platforms
    • Demonstrated grace under pressure and ability to be flexible
    • Project management experience and strong design sensibility

    Working Conditions:

    • Office environment: working with adults and high school students.
    • Physical demands: able to sit and stand for eight hours per day and lift 30 Ibs. Some weekend and/or weeknight obligations.

    Working Relationships: Vendors, students, parents, alumni, advancement personnel, and all other employees

    Salary: $40,000 - $45,000, depending on experience and education
