INTRODUCTION

This job description outlines the requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and duties for the position of Service Technician of Big Mike’s Rental, Repair, and Services.

Summary/ Objective

The service technician position is responsible for install, repair, and preventative maintenance of BMR equipment.

Essential Job Functions

Manage all installation, repairs, and maintenance.

Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine the proper solution

Produce timely and detailed service reports

Keep a record of services, prepare an inventory of stock, and order consumable parts for rental equipment.

Keep the store grounds clean and orderly

Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting, and acknowledging every customer, and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.

Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Performs any other duties assigned by management.

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

The ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Duties and responsibilities

Provide service and customer service of equipment document processes

Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations

Troubleshooting the equipment

Advising customers on how to use the equipment

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

Maintains physical building according to company standards. Communicates with BMR Assistant Manager on areas of needed maintenance.

Protects fellow employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.

Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

To contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:

· The use of conversational, analytical, and observational skills which demonstrate an ability to organize and process all areas of sales.

· Knowledgeable in general welding equipment

· Skills and ability to directly interface with all members of the workforce and management.

· Strong Commitment to Customer Service including positive Professional Verbal & Non-Verbal Communication Skills. Able to properly interact with customers of all backgrounds.

· Understand the importance of safety policies and procedures, identify and correct safety hazards and encourage others to work safely.

· Strong Time Management Skills, ability to prioritize; complete tasks and assignments in a timely manner, and to seek additional projects and opportunities in down times.

· Self-motivated, able to maintain organization and perform responsibilities and duties with little to no supervision.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Position type/ Expected hours of work

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Weekend work may be required as schedule demands.

Required Education and Experience

Required: High school or equivalent

Experience: Five years of experience and/or training in equipment repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
