    Job Description

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    Fox Pest Control is seeking a Fleet Safety Manager whose role is vital to the overall management of the Fox fleet. This manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the policies of our Fleet Safety Program as well as its effectiveness with managers, supervisors, and drivers.This position will ensure proper maintenance procedures, assist in maintaining proper insurance policies, always ensuring the fleet is compliant with current laws. We want someone who is positive, detail oriented, teachable, eager to learn, and has a commitment to honesty and hard work. This position will need to report to our Logan, Utah office.

    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FLEET MANAGER

    • Help develop and implement an effective fleet safety education and training program 

    • Monitor 700+ vehicles to ensure proper maintenance procedures are being followed to keep vehicles in a safe operating condition 

    • Complete Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks

    • Assist with our auto insurance rates and policies

    • Make sure vehicles are properly selected for the job, that preventive/corrective maintenance is performed, and that inspections are regularly conducted

    • Assist in monitoring the driving experience of employees who operate company vehicles

    • Institute a fair and objective disciplinary action system

    • Work with regulatory agencies to ensure the regulatory compliance is achieved

    • Assuring DOT drug / alcohol program is compliant with regulations

    • Overseeing and implementing the elements of a Accident Management process including coordination of reporting, investigation, documentation and management of incidents

    • Conduct safety and security audits in all regulated facilities to ensure OSHA and DOT compliance

    • Will involve some travel

    WHAT IS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

    • Intermediate knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Google Suite

    • Working knowledge of the performance management/monitoring systems

    • Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws nationwide 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain or related field experience preferred

    • 4+ years experience in transportation management and safety management

    • Certifications (NAFA, CAFS, CPFP) is a plus

    • Analysis and identification of risk trends, problems and solutions

    • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely using appropriate mediums (for example, face-to-face, e-mail, and presentations to large groups), listen effectively, demonstrate understanding, and clarify meaning for others

    • Ability to analyze, define, diagnose, and resolve problems based on sound logic and rationale 

    • Ability to develop, coach, and mentor others including the ability to provide development experiences and network opportunities, advise, and teach to prepare others for effective job performance

    • Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team, including those holding divergent and/or opposing views and goal

    • Understand and apply meaningful operations and safety performance metrics

    • Willing and able to promote a positive and uplifting company culture
