Field Support Engineer – Software
Foxhound Federal seeks a talented FSR for one of its premier clients. This is a full-time opportunity with the client and the package includes above average salary, benefits, PTO, 401K, Holidays etc. We would be very happy to speak with any current or former software Field Engineers.
Position Overview
This is a remote position, with routine travel requirements. The FSR is responsible for actively supporting an unmanned arial system (UAS) both in CONUS and in the operational environments. FSRs shall travel to a specified location to perform operational readiness support and other technical services on the ship sets. At least 3 years of FSR software engineering experience
Responsibilities
Maintain and deploy software configurations for a loitering munitions suite
Routine CONUS deployments to munition warehouse locations for maintenance and updates
Deployments to operational environments as necessary. Deployments are anticipated to be infrequent but last no longer than 6 months). Overall travel is 25-50%
Ability to configure and troubleshoot physical hardware and software systems
Ability to proactively identify and resolve operational, manufacturing/development and process inefficiencies
Ability to train users on equipment and methods of employment
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience supporting US Government programs in a software support/IT/FSR role
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interoperate with lower-level program personnel and upper-level executive management
Availability for business travel in support to program execution responsibilities; estimated not to exceed 50% OCONUS
Existing TS security clearance. SCI eligible
Systems administration experience in a Linux environment. Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, and various debugging tools
Possess and maintain a DoD 8570.1 certification
Experience with loading and maintaining software
Experience repairing and creating technical documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree in a STEM
Existing TS/SCI clearance
Experience working with small, remote teams with a “no fail” mission
Experience working in a DevSecOPs environment
