Southern CFO is seeking an experienced controller to support our family office and investment fund clients. This role is ideal for a skilled and motivated accounting professional looking for part-time, remote work with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.

Company: Southern CFO is a fully remote, Atlanta-based professional services firm that provides fractional CFO, FP&A and accounting services to family offices, high net worth individuals and investment funds.

Location: The position is fully remote, but preference will be given to candidates who can meet in the Atlanta area, if needed, for occasional in-person meetings or collaboration.

Compensation: Starting at $60 per hour, with rate based on experience and technical proficiency; this is a 1099 contractor position.

Hours: 15–25 hours per week, flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related financial analysis
• Collaborate with third party CPA firms on tax and audit work
• Monitor cash accounts and manage cash flow
• Oversee bill payments and execute transfers
• Maintain banking relationships and coordinate with vendors
• Become a trusted advisor to clients including entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals, family offices, and investment funds

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience
• Prior experience in a Controller-level role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred but not required
• Experienced user of QuickBooks
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
