    About Far Out Ice Cream

Far Out Ice Cream is a fast-growing New Zealand–style ice cream company with locations in Brookline, JFK/Harvard, Time Out Market Boston, and Canalside. We blend real fruit with high-quality ice cream to create a product that stands out in the Boston food scene. We're expanding rapidly and looking for a versatile, organized, and creative Fractional Marketing Manager to lead our marketing operations and bring structure and consistency to our brand.

    Role Overview

The Fractional Marketing Manager will serve as the central operator for all marketing functions across Far Out Ice Cream’s locations and programs. You’ll own the marketing calendar, coordinate content production, manage digital channels, and ensure all promotions and launches are executed on time and on brand.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and can translate ideas into organized, repeatable processes. You’ll bring cohesion to the marketing function while supporting creative storytelling and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Marketing Calendar & Campaign Execution

Maintain a 2–3 month rolling Marketing Calendar including:

    Weekly launches

    Seasonality & holidays

    New product rollouts

    Events & catering promotions

    Store-specific promotions

    Coordinate deliverables for each launch:

    Toast asset updates

    Social media posts & reels

    Email newsletters

Menu board and in-store display updates

    Physical/grassroots marketing

Ensure all campaigns are executed smoothly and on schedule.

    1. Social Media & Content Oversight

Oversee daily/weekly content execution across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).

Review and approve content created by the Social Media Intern and creative partners.

Maintain consistent brand voice, aesthetics, and posting rhythm.

Manage influencer collaborations (goal: 3 per month) including outreach, scheduling, and content alignment.

    Monitor engagement and community interactions.

    1. Design & Creative Coordination

Act as the liaison between Far Out Ice Cream and creative partners (Rest Stop LLC, interns).

Submit creative briefs, ensure assets meet brand guidelines, and manage revisions.

Manage creative asset storage and naming systems to keep deliverables organized.

    1. Email Marketing

Produce 2 monthly email newsletters highlighting:

    Product launches

    Events & catering

    Community stories

    Special promotions

Maintain templates for efficient, repeatable production.

Track performance metrics (open rate, CTR, conversions).

    1. Physical & Community Marketing

Plan and execute local outreach initiatives around each store (Brookline, JFK, Cambridge, and more).

Manage flyer and promotional material distribution, plus partnerships with local businesses.

Support neighborhood events, seasonal activations, and brand collaborations.

    1. Third-Party Delivery Platform Management

Update and optimize listings on Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub.

Track and report monthly performance: order volume, ratings, menu visibility.

Coordinate with the Regional Manager to optimize pricing, photos, and seasonal menus.

    1. Reporting & KPIs

Provide monthly marketing performance summaries including:

    Social engagement

    Follower growth

    Store-level campaigns

    Email performance

    Delivery platform metrics

    Events/catering lead flow

Make data-driven recommendations for next month’s strategy.

    Qualifications

2–5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in food & beverage, retail, hospitality, or CPG.

Strong understanding of social media strategy, digital marketing, and content creation.

Excellent project management and organizational skills — must excel at managing calendars and deliverables.

Experience working with freelancers, interns, or creative agencies.

Comfortable using tools like Notion, Asana, Mailchimp, Canva, and Meta Business Suite.

Creative eye for branding and storytelling.

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

    Personality & Work Style

Resourceful and self-directed — can operate effectively in a lean startup-style environment.

Creative but structured; able to turn ideas into systems and processes.

Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, positive culture.

Passion for food, community, and local business is a big plus.

    What You’ll Gain

Ownership of marketing for a growing multi-location brand.

    Flexible schedule and autonomy.

Portfolio-building experience launching real campaigns and new menu items weekly.

Direct collaboration with founders and influential local creatives.

Flexible work from home options available.
