Performs under direct supervision of Supervisor, Sales Engineering. Provides customer service directly by telephone, mail and/or over the counter. Handles inquiries, Processes orders and sells or promotes additional sales. Assists in verifying product availability, delivery and pricing.
Measures of success:
- Specification review and quotation generation
- Increased Bookings and Improved Customer Service
- Improved processing time converting quotes to orders
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Generates and sends quotes to customers in a timely matter
- Collaborates with outside sales and accounting to ensure the project quote is within the correct margins
- Provides customer service by answering and directing calls and questions
- Locates historical information for customers concerning previous orders and deliveries of current orders
- Creates work order and any necessary purchase orders in the system
- Follows up on purchase orders with vendors
- Relays delivery information to vendor
- Inspects orders after production and before shipping
- Creates and sends purchase orders to vendors for nonstock items
- Prepares submittals for customer reviews
- Determines whether the order requires submittal documentation for the customer or end user to approve. If so, works with engineering to create required drawings
- Reviews altered submittals to determine whether alterations might affect pricing
Work Environment:
The Inside Sales Engineer will work in a remote office setting where they may be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time and be occasionally exposed to production facility where personal protective equipment may be required.
Required Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or technical school. Area of specialization: Engineering/Sales
- Less than 1 year
- Understanding of machines and electrical
- Basic pump knowledge
- Basic AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Computer experience (specifically on Configuration/quotation systems and ERP)
