    We are currently seeking a Director of Social Strategy to join our exceptional Social team.

    We are looking for someone who has a passion for understanding the human psyche on social and can translate that into an innate understanding to develop the right social expression of the brand strategy. You also need to be a curious, motivating leader for the social team, developing compelling, creative social media strategies and content, deeply understanding the social media landscape and can focus on the big-picture for the discipline, department, and team leadership within the overall agency and in collaboration with other discipline leaders. The goal of the Director of Social is to develop, implement and maintain a forward-thinking social media engagement strategy via various platforms and communities that support the overall business goals and priorities of the agency and agency clients. The Director of Social works closely with brand planning, creative teams, account teams, production teams, public relations teams, and clients to provide strategic social media counsel, develop effective and creative social media plans, and will help lead teams to execute those plans and evaluate the results of that outreach. This person will need to bring solid presentation skills and should be equipped to represent social media as a strategic tool to internal teams, new business presentations and clients.

    AREAS OF FOCUS: 

    • Ability to lead the social department and function as part of an integrated agency – for both Carmichael Lynch and Carmichael Lynch Relate clients.
    • Ability to bring cultural insights to lead the team to identify social trends, happenings, new ideas and opportunities that can inform great creative ideas in collaboration with the creative department.
    • Understand the role of social media and how it ladders up to client business objectives.
    • Provide proactive counsel and POV’s on social happenings, movements, changes that affect brands and anticipate client needs while guiding the teams to address those needs.
    • Competent at tracking and explaining the ever-changing social media landscape and educating both internal teams and clients on the latest trends and channel usage.
    • Guide the internal team on best practices for social listening and monitoring as well as campaign reporting and measurement and how to package that for clients.
    • Implement continued training and development for the social media team members including career-planning and mentorship.
    • Participate in leading the social function in new business pitches, including guiding the team on research, ideation and developing case studies.
    • Collaborate with public relations on issues management and crisis and provide counsel on social community management strategy and messaging.

    • Help ensure we have the correct social listening tools, platform ad-managers, content scheduling tools.
    • Marketing or creative integrated agency experience strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of social/digital marketing, public relations, or relevant work experience in one of the following areas: prior agency, communications, or media.
    • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, public relations, or relevant experience.
