    SUMMARY 

    The Refrigeration Sales Engineer actively utilizes technical skills in a team environment to facilitate refrigeration and HVAC system design, customer sales, project management and business development to ensure client satisfaction and profitability.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) for all new and or expansion refrigeration systems.
    • Present proposals to customers and negotiate contracts which result in sales closure.
    • Identify new customers and maintain relationships with current customers.
    • Assess and report market and customer trends.
    • With the design team, create sketches and related design documents to complete the required refrigeration and HVAC systems to accommodate customer expectations.
    • Review design documents by supporting CAD personnel.
    • Perform complete estimating functions, commercial project buyout and coordination of material/equipment delivery to site.
    • Assist project management construction team with project turnover, budget preparation, schedule preparation and monitoring, and other project guidance to achieve timely and cost effective completion of project(s).
    • Periodic financial review and responsibility for overall Profit/Loss of projects.
    • Work closely with construction resources to assure projects are being done on time and within budget.
    • Accountable for system installation, startup, turnover documents and customer feedback after project completion
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum five years of experience relating to ammonia refrigeration systems, or an Associate’s Degree and ten years of experience.
    • Experience in all aspects of project requirements including mechanical, electrical, and structural, including application of current codes is preferred.
    • Strong communication skills including effective public speaking skills and effective managing skills.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations.
    • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, plans and/or blueprints and evaluate for compliance with industry standards.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS 

    • Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
    • Construction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels. 
    • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
