    The Accounting and Finance Intern is responsible for assisting the Accounting Department with daily balancing for the share branch, proof to trial and Cards. This position will also provide support for weekly and monthly reconciliations. Assist the Finance Team with pulling competitor loan and deposit rates; retrieve loan index rates from the treasury website and review trade tickets.

    *Employees are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations applicable to this position, including but not limited to all policies and procedures pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

    Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    · Assist in the bookkeeping process, including maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling statements.

    · Contribute to special projects as assigned.

    · Aid in the preparation of various reports.

    · Prepare reports specifically for the Rate Committee.

    · Execute administrative tasks as required, such as preparing documents and entering data.

    Required Skills

    Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

    · Education and Credentials

    o High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required

    o Must be currently enrolled in a 4 year degree program working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, management or related field

    · Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    o Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required

    o Fundamental understanding of accounting principles, practices and terminology preferred

    o Prior exposure to accounting software preferred

    o Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts

    o Attention to Detail. Interns must be able to manage detailed financial data accurately and recognize discrepancies.

    o Initiative and Eagerness to Learn. Candidates are proactive, eager to learn new skills, and can take initiative on projects.

    o Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership
