GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for independently performing both routine and non-routine accounting and financial reporting functions for Dole Fresh Vegetables and subsidiary entities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
· Obtains data necessary for month end closing entries and performs month end duties as assigned.
· Analyze general ledger journal entries; verify the accuracy of recorded accounting transactions particularly those related to intercompany payables, prepaids, and other receivables.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
· Maintain and reconcile accounting subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger (Prepaids, AP, intercompany payables, etc.).
· Prepares and compares weekly cash receipts and disbursement against forecast.
· Prepare various ad-hoc accounting reports as requested by management, as well as corporate headquarters for month-end and quarter-end.
· Document general ledger account descriptions, policies and procedures and reporting requirements.
Other internal projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills
** JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:**
· 1 year of experience in accounting or related field.
· Strong ERP software experience required. (J.D Edwards preferred)
· Intermediate Excel skills to include XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot table, external linking, and respect for proper database management and accuracy to ensure data quality and integrity.
· Working experience in Agriculture industry preferred.
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), procedures and application.
· Process improvement experience preferred.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy.
· Ability to multitask and work independently.
· Ability to analyze data and provide creative solutions.
PHYSIC _ AL REQUIREMENTS:_
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work 40 or more hours weekly including weekends as needed.
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree, in Accounting, Finance or Related field is required.
PAY RATE:
$70,000-$73,800 Annually
