Job Summary
The Framer is responsible for constructing wall panels, floors, roofs, and structural components of modular homes within a plant. This role works in a controlled warehouse environment that ensures homes are built safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable building codes and quality standards in a team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble wood and framing components according to production plans and work instructions.
- Measure, cut, position, and secure framing materials using hand and power tools.
- Construct walls, floors, ceilings, and roof systems for modular home units.
- Read and follow basic blueprints, shop drawings, and layout markings.
- Inspect framing work to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and quality standards.
- Coordinate work with teams and leadership during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company safety policies.
- Meet production timelines while maintaining quality and safety expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Willingness to learn framing techniques and construction methods.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Qualified applicants considered regardless of criminal history.
- No prior construction or framing experience required. Training provided based on demonstrated ability and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and have access to hand tools.
- Experience working in a team-based production environment.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work indoors in a warehouse environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
Work Schedule & Benefits
- Full-time schedule, standard first shift hours Monday–Friday
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
- Paid Time off after 90 days
