    SALARY: The base salary for associate positions is $205,000 - $275,000, depending upon class year.

    Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, one of Crain's New York "Best Places to Work," is seeking a junior to mid-level Entertainment Associate specializing in film to represent equity financiers, lenders, production companies, and producers in connection with independent film financings, including related development and distribution work to join our Entertainment Group. We are seeking a candidate admitted to practice in New York and/or California.

    PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Primarily responsible for film financing transactions from term sheet to closing for equity financiers, lenders, production companies, and producers.
    • Draft and negotiate financing agreements, operating agreements, subscription agreements, loan & security agreements and all ancillary loan documents.
    • Draft and negotiate all types of contracts in the film and television industries, including attachment agreements, option purchase agreements, assignment agreements, writer agreements, director agreements, and producer agreements.
    • Negotiate sales agency agreements, distribution agreements, completion guarantor agreements, interparty agreements, and collection account management agreements.
    • Conduct due diligence, including chain of title review.
    • Advise clients in connection with film financing transactions, intellectual property issues, and other aspects of the film, television, and podcast industries.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Ability to work collaboratively and also independently depending on the assignment.
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage a heavy volume of time-sensitive matters and multiple clients, working with the Entertainment Group and other attorneys throughout the Firm, with exceptional attention to detail, pragmatism, and judgment.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • At least 2-5 years of law firm and/or in-house legal experience post-law school.
    • Membership in the California and/or New York Bar
