GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The  Community Outreach manages/maintains occupancy development of the AL, IL, MC and/or SNF community environment by actively marketing the community using networking skills in the local community with local community business organizations and other referral sources.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Network to professional influencers in the local community to generate leads while maintaining or exceeding company standards.
• Creates and maintains a contact base of professional contacts and influencers by making cold telephone calls, follow-up calls, and follow up visits. 
• Assists with the community’s marketing and public relations efforts.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
• Senior housing and/or healthcare industry experience highly desired
• Public relations experience preferred.
• Works with the Dir. of Sales and Marketing to establish exchange of information.
• Attends required community meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual a plus
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software. Basic typing skills required
• Must be able to generate a warm, friendly and caring manner on first impression
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, residents, family members, and outside contacts
• Able to make presentations to the public
• Able to provide networking and sales support services in a senior housing environment
• Has knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to IL and AL communities respectively
• Has knowledge with the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

• Stand and/or walk up to 75% of the day
• Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
• Must be able to tour through the entire building, up to one mile, occasionally pushing a wheelchair
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally kneel, bend and reach
• Subject to infectious diseases, substances, odors, etc. throughout the work day
