The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a 200-bed minimum security correctional facility. The CBCF accommodates both male and female adult felony offenders. Offenders that are sentenced to the CBCF are called "residents." A resident can be sentenced to the facility for a maximum of 180 days.

All residents at the CBCF are placed on community/post release control prior to arrival at the CBCF. Successful completion of the program then becomes a condition of their probation/parole. Eligibility is determined by the Ohio Revised Code Section 1951.02 as well as by criteria approved by the Franklin County Judicial Advisory Board and Facility Governing Board. The CBCF accepts residents from various counties.

The CBCF utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) curricula for its core programming. The CBCF also offers GED services and other activities that assist the residents in their preparation for successful community reentry. Residents are referred to outside community agencies for additional treatment needs at the appropriate time in their program.
