    The job responsibilities of the Buyer include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Development of requirements analysis for materials, components, tooling, or equipment, including preliminary specifications, supplier selection and evaluation, and date needed.
    • Prepare, solicit, and evaluate technical request for quotation documents.
    • Conduct market research, evaluation, and selection of new and current technology options.
    • Works with Engineering, Quality Control, Production Control, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Aisan Engineering and Purchasing to investigate and screen potential suppliers to determine if supplier meets technical requirements.
    • Ensures that contractual language for capital contracts protects company interests
    • Acts as a primary contact for supplier negotiations and contracts for all responsible purchases
    • Acquire materials, supplies, packaging, and services, placing purchase orders for goods that have requisition approval
    • Develop comprehensive project resources and mobilization plans.
    • Maintains constant contact and coordination with end users, suppliers, subcontractors, and freight companies to ensure compliance with each contract
    • Provide cost analysis data to management for strategic decision making
    • Provide technical and financial analysis as requested to FPI and/or Aisan management
    • Manage new model material, component, equipment, or tooling readiness projects.
    • Manage, develop and implement Supplier Performance measures for cost improvement and on-time delivery
    • Foster and develop a “Development Partner” philosophy to select, develop and manage suppliers:
    • Mutual Trust, Respect, Candor, Ethical Behavior, Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain a world-wide supply base of competitive and innovative companies
    • Act as primary contact for supplier negotiations and contracts on assigned commodities
    • Drive the application and development of purchasing functional excellence
    • Assist plant and suppliers in continuous improvement efforts and optimizing the capabilities of both group
    • Proactively lead development of Minority Suppliers within the supply base
    • Act as primary contact in resolving long-term issues that the plant has with suppliers
    • Drive total cost reductions across entire supply chain in managing cost-out opportunities
    • Travel to support supplier/entity issues
    • Acts as a backup to other Buyers during absence
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    The ideal candidates for these positions will have the following skills and qualifications

    • BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field or minimum 3 years’ purchasing, engineering, or other related experience
    • Ability to manage the entire order-to-payment process
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient in constructing analytical tools for Buyer and/or management decision making
    • Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge internal customer and external supplier relationships
    • Deadline- and results-oriented
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Demonstrated project management skills
