We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to work under the direction of a controller and assist with the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, and internal control systems. The assistant controller's duties also include managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial audits. You must be able to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.
Controller Responsibilities :
- Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
- Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
- Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
- Participate in preparation for the annual audit
- Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
Controller Requirements :
- • 2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- • CPA required
- • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities
- • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- • Experience in preparing and review of partnership, corporate, payroll and non-profit tax filings
- • Experience with non-profit, low income housing and property management organizations preferred
- • Experience with various accounting software administration – Netsuite experience will be helpful
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000 / yr
