    Job Description

    The New Restaurant Opening (NRO) Training Manager partners with the field operations team, home office operations team, and Human Resources. The NRO Training Manager will lead new restaurant openings, regional training and will support Managers In Training (MITs) and training store locations.  We are in a time of expansive growth and development in our new stores.  The NRO Training Manager will train and develop staff at stores across the country. This position will work remote from the home office but will travel up to 75% of the time, occasionally for weeks at a time as new stores train and open.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Training & Development: 2-3 years (Preferred)
    • Restaurant Operations 3-5 years experience
    • Serv Safe Proctor preferred

    SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. SUPPORT COMPANY NEW RESTAURANT OPENINGS AND PROVIDE TRAINING PROGRAM FEEDBACK.

    • Assume leadership role in system roll-outs and initiatives.
    • Provide assistance to district managers as needed.
    • Assume on the job training role for all new store openings, helping to train all staff at every level.
    • Perform interviews at all levels.

    2. ENSURE RESTAURANT TRAINING EXCELLENCE.

    • Partner with district managers to help with restaurant manager selection and development.
    • Achieve market training restaurant qualitative and quantitative training and operations goals.
    • Follow up with all current trainees on a weekly basis either by phone or in-store visits. Specific and immediate one on one feedback to appropriate multi-unit managers with findings particularly when there are concerns.
    • Ensure transition meetings are scheduled and executed.
    • Maintain trainee tracking sheet and distribute to district managers.
    1. PARTNER WITH DISTRICT MANAGERS TO COORDINATE SPECIFIC TERRITORY OBJECTIVES.
    • Provide feedback to supervisors with specific business training opportunities.
    • Execute assignments as directed by other company leaders.
    • Ensure there is a training system in place in all restaurants.
    • Partner with district managers to help improve under-performing restaurants.
    • Partner with district managers to ensure effective new restaurant openings.
    • Use existing company systems to build capability and accountability.

    4. CONDUCT EFFECTIVE IN-PERSON TRAINING.

    • Effectively facilitate in-person training as needed to include operational and Human Resource related topics.
    • Follow up in field to ensure skills are being used and provide feedback to district managers and store training team.
    • Ensure class availability through proper scheduling of classes throughout the year.
    • If necessary, partner with district managers to identify and develop instructors.

    5. ASSIST IN CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF ALL RESTAURANT LEVEL EMPLOYEES.

    • Effectively partner with district managers and restaurant managers to help develop new training plans for all above mentioned individuals when necessary.
    • Follow up in field to ensure skills are being used and provide feedback to district managers and training team.

    ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Restaurant operations experience of 3-5 years is a must. QSR experience is a plus.
    • Strong people development skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal and influence skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, strong progressive Excel skills, Power Point, presentation platforms and more.

    • Business savvy, maturity, and intellectual curiosity.
    • Self-sufficient and driven to work alone with proficiency.

    • Minimum 50-hour work week. Travel is required to include overnight visits whenever necessary
