    FRED’S PANTRY COMMUNITY COORDINATOR/ADVOCATE: PART-TIME

    Our focus at CHHOP (Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill) is housing and food equity. We work to alleviate hunger and homelessness with six programs addressing food and housing insecurity including transitional and permanent housing for Veterans, transitional housing for unhoused adults of all genders, a collaborative housing and services support program for domestic violence survivors and their families, a permanent supportive hosing program for chronically homeless individuals living with a disability, a large “farm to pantry” food pantry, and a rental arrears and communities services support program for low-wage workers and immigrants.

    Position Overview

    The Community Coordinator/Advocate strengthens Fred’s Pantry as a one-stop resource by organizing community partners, coordinating onsite services, and supporting individuals seeking advocacy related to social determinants of health, including housing and healthcare.

    Key Responsibilities

    · • Build and coordinate partnerships with community stakeholders to provide onsite services and advocacy at Fred’s Pantry

    · • Collaborate with the Pantry Coordinator on daily operations and community engagement

    · • Create and distribute outreach materials

    · • Work with CHHOP’s communications team to highlight program activities

    · • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    · • BA/BS preferred, ideally in Human Services

    · • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with low-income individuals or families

    · • Spanish proficiency required

    · • Valid driver’s license, insurance, clean driving record, and personal vehicle

    Salary

    $25-$30hr for 10-15 hrs. a week DOE
