    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, with a specific focus on automotive systems and components. You’ll be designing and building wheelchair-accessible vehicles and all of the components that are involved with them.

    You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and other subsystems. You’ll conduct performance testing and analysis to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software

    Support manufacturing and production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production

    Draw layouts, part detailing, and GD&T

    Stay current with emerging automotive technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization

    Integrate mechanical, electronic, and control systems for optimal performance into our products

    May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description

    May develop into a Vice President of Engineering role

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    Working knowledge and proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and FEA

    Experience and/or familiarity with CARB (California Air and Resource Board)

    Experience and or familiarity with crash testing

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

    Minimum of [5] years of experience in mechanical design and development

    Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials science

    Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
