Remote or in-person acceptable We're looking to hire an outside freelance lawyer to work with us on a LONG-TERM, ongoing basis for a growing business-minded law firm. You may be asked to work on a variety of business and intellectual property-related projects, including trademark filings and office actions, drafting and reviewing documents and agreements, and general assistance with managing files to completion. Responsibilities: • Conduct trademark clearance research and write memos on the potential strength of a trademark application • Draft and file trademark registrations and renewals • Drafting response to USPTO Office Actions • Communicating with the firm and its clients to obtain market information and provide strategies to improve the strength of the applications, and also enforceability Qualifications: • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm working on trademarks Compensation: $65 - $90 hourly
