    We're looking to hire an outside freelance paralegal to work with us on a long-term, ongoing basis for a growing business-minded law firm. You may be asked to work on a variety of business or estate planning-related projects, including drafting and reviewing documents and agreements, legal research, document filing, and general assistance with managing files to completion. Being a small firm, you will also be asked to assist with scheduling, answering phones, screening potential new clients, and calling governmental agencies. Responsibilities: • Draft business legal documents, such as contractor, service agreements, asset purchase and stock purchase agreements, assignments, etc., under the guidance of a lawyer • Draft estate planning legal documents, such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, etc., under the guidance of a lawyer • Utilize and optimize drafting software to create the initial drafts of legal document deliverables, where applicable • Arrange law office activity such as drafting entity amendments and filings, deeds, and facilitating the filings of such documents • Perform administrative duties such as organizing the case filing system so all documents are readily accessible • Aid lawyers in document creation and negotiations by conducting research on clients, gathering, and confirming deal information • Proofread communications and legal documents for verification of accuracy and details • Directly communicate with clients to gather information about their matter and desired outcomes • Assist in case management activities to ensure timely outcomes for clients • Assist with documenting workflows and policies to ensure continual and consistent improvement in firm work processes • Being a small shop, you will be asked to pitch in wherever help is needed Qualifications: • Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • Strong preference for candidates who have utilized and can show proficiency and learning ability with software platforms, specifically the following: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT), WealthCounsel documents • At least 2 years of experience in legal services under an attorney, with at least 1 year of transactional or entity formation experience specifically (Arizona preferred) • Preference for having completed a paralegal professional certification program or an Associate's degree in paralegal studies REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 2 years of working as a paralegal in business (transactional, not litigation), estate planning, or related law firm • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Proven ability to meet deadlines and be well-organized • Superior legal writing and research skills • Self-starter and able to work independently • Strong communication skills, whether in person, by phone, or by email • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while staying organized • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative • Willing and able to learn new material quickly • Comfortable with technology Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
