About the Role:

Montessori School of Chevy Chase Inc is looking for a passionate and nurturing French Speaking Montessori School Assistant to join our dedicated team in Washington, DC. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire young minds in a bilingual, child-centered learning environment where creativity and independence are celebrated every day.

Major Responsibilities but not limited to:

Support the lead Montessori teachers

Communicate with students in French

Guide and supervise children during recess and transitions

Prepare and maintain Montessori learning materials and classroom environment

Observe and document individual student progress and developmental milestones

Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff through clear communication

Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere

Take children to the bathroom and change diapers when necessary

Requirements:

Fluency in both French

Prior experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting

Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and teaching methods

Montessori certification is a plus

Must have a college degree or a CDA

Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with children

Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and DC compliance requirements

Must be on time every day
