Must have above average “hands on” expertise and relevant background experience in application of materials, manufacturing methods and equipment; especially in regards to soldering rework both thru-hole and SMT components
Ability to build prototypes from rough sketches or plans
Create travelers/ routers, flow charts, visual aids, tooling/ fixtures and ECO's to support assembly floor
Troubleshoot defects and problems in products and processes as they occur with goal of finding and correcting root causes of discrepancies
Interface with suppliers to resolve problems associated with the fabrication of parts
Work with design on new programs to evaluate and develop new processes, equipment and materials for assembly operations in Aerospace electronics with goal of reducing costs.
Working knowledge of the J-STD-001 with space addendum soldering/ assembly specifications a plus
Background establishing a LEAN program including metrics that support continuous process and flow improvements
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Working knowledge of Visual Manufacturing & AutoCAD a strong plus
Associate's degree or equivalent from 2yr college or technical school a must
BS in Mechanical Engineering/ Material Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering, etc. a plus
