    Job Overview

    The Produce Packer / Production Associate is responsible for cleaning, slicing, sorting, inspecting, and packaging fresh produce according to line leader and department supervisor specifications. This role supports the production process by preparing products for shipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment in a fast-paced food production setting.

    Compensation

    • $16.37 - $18.00 per hour

    Schedule

    • Production shifts are Monday–Friday, starting at 6:30 AM
    • Full-time employees are scheduled five shifts per week
    • No set end times for production shifts; flexibility with shift end times is required

    Essential Functions

    • Grade, classify, clean, slice, trim, sort, and package produce according to size, weight, color, and quality specifications
    • Place produce into bags, trays, or other packaging materials for shipment
    • Inspect products and compare color, shape, texture, and grade against charts or samples to ensure quality standards
    • Remove defective items such as bruised or scarred produce
    • Notify supervisors of production or quality issues and assist with corrective actions
    • Maintain clean, organized, sanitized, and safe workstations and practices
    • Work efficiently in a cold production environment

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for 8+ hours per day
    • Ability to distinguish colors for accurate produce grading
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience in produce handling, produce packaging, food processing, or warehouse environments
    • Prior fresh produce experience preferred

    Physical Demands

    • Stand, walk, manually manipulate, and reach outward constantly
    • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 lbs frequently

    Work Environment

    • Refrigerated production room maintained at approximately 38°F
    • Wet floors due to produce washing and sanitation processes
    • Boots, smocks, and hairnets are provided for all production employees
