Friday Services is looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our team at our Asheville office this Spring. As the marketing intern, you will be working one-on-one with our Marketing Coordinator to assist with a variety of social media and marketing initiatives. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in the following: social media management, graphic design, video production, and editing, copywriting, brand management, website maintenance, analytics, search engine marketing, and other content and digital marketing practices. (Can be more focused depending on students' interests.)

This is an unpaid internship.

WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible, depending on the student's class schedule. Office hours are M-F from 8 am – 5 pm.

HOURS PER WEEK: 12-18 hrs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Social Media focus includes:

Assisting with social media engagement by helping manage Friday's social channels. Drafting and editing copy for social channels. Monitoring social media web analytics on a weekly basis (ex. page views, followers, audience, etc.) and help provide reports of growth and other activity.

Marketing focus includes:

Engaging with Marketing Coordinator to brainstorm new and innovative marketing and social media campaigns. Assisting with gathering data for marketing reports and supporting a variety of marketing and advertising programs. Working on recruiting ideas. Assisting with content marketing (i.e. assisting in creating engaging videos, graphics and other multimedia.) Website maintenance and search engine marketing research. Researching industry-specific sites (blogs, forums, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus.
• Applicants must currently be enrolled at a college or university working towards a degree in marketing or communications.
